Bond… James Bond

They’re saying it’s one of the greatest Bonds of all time.

My Thoughts

Skyfall is smooth. That single word may very well sum up the entire movie. The pacing is perfect, the action is sleek, and Daniel Craig is cooler than ever.

Darker and more personal, it has a psychological element not found in the previous two entries. A neurotic villain. Struggles for Bond and M that seed from their hidden pasts.

The 23rd Bond film is phenomenal and is a more than welcome addition to the legendary franchise.

Reception

Skyfall has a 92% on Rotten Tomatoes (92% of critics give it a positive rating). Their consensus: “Sam Mendes brings Bond surging back with a smart, sexy, riveting action thriller that qualifies as one of the best 007 films to date.” On Metacritic, it has an 81/100 (81 being the average critic rating). The film grossed $88,364,714 this weekend, making it the biggest Bond opening of all time. Even more impressive is its international numbers. Since its overseas debut in late October, it’s grossed $429.6 million, also a Bond record.
